Before I will write something about 4th TLK let me write something about previous parts...

1st TLK was great cause there was a big (but short) tragedy which determines whole life of simba.

and about other parts I must agree with The Dishwasher
"...burn all evidence of anything other than TLK!"
but make it again...

TLK2 was nothing more than Star Wars episode2 - romance (and sorry but Vitani looks like guy :/ )

TLK 1 1/2 (never call that 3): less T&P more Simba (something between Mouse / Challenge Scene and The Sunrise / Pouncing Scene + extended Hakuna Matata Scene (but without farting))

and 4th TLK should be prequel (TLK0 ? or something with sub-title) where we could see:
-how Mufasa became so powerfull?
-how Scar takes his scar (btw i don't like part when Kovu gets his scar)?
-WHO IS THE FATHER OF NALA!!!
-friendship of Sarabi and Sarafina
-how Scar becames hyenas "friend"?
-why Scar so much hates Mufasa?
-and many many more...
If they don't have enough time for that... take "The Matrix" for example the last 2 parts are like one or LoTR (3h!).

I don't really think that Disney will make a fourth movie, particularly because of what happened to The Land Before Time. An original idea was used over and over and over... until no one really gave a crap anymore. Each successive movie is incrementally more boring.

For me, TLK will never be boring, but I don't think that creating a fourth sequel will even be worth it. I was thinking about licensing Leaders of the Pride and getting funded by Disney for a Prequel, but maybe that won't really work out.
